Westminster Presbyterian Church is
delighted to be a part of this most joyous occasion. Our desire is to
provide a ceremony that will be meaningful and a celebration of a life
that is long memorable. Based on our experience, we stand by to assist
you in any way.
We do not limit weddings to members of the church. However, church
members, children of members and grandchildren have priority for
wedding dates.
Dates:
We maintain a calendar up to a year in advance. Confirmation must be
six months prior to the wedding date. You must fill out an application
form and return it along with a deposit. There will be no refund of
deposit after the application has been confirmed for six months. A
date may be changed if the new date requested is available. However,
an additional fee of $75.00 is charged if a confirmed date is changed.
Rehearsals:
We encourage you to schedule rehearsals carefully. There is a two hour
limit on
rehearsals. All rehearsals should begin no later than 6:00 p.m. and
end not later
than 9:00 p.m. After 9:00 p.m., an additional fee will be charged.
Minister:
Marriage Ceremonies are usually conducted by our Pastor. Arrangements
may be
made with the pastor for another minister to participate. Such
participation is to
be determined between the pastor and the wedding couple. The couple
may opt for
another minister to be the officiate at the wedding.
Photography:
Brides and Grooms usually pick their own photographer and
videographers. The
placement of equipment for video operations must be arranged before
the
ceremony. All must perform their duties in all aspects of appropriate
manner,
conduct and product.
Flowers & Decorations:
Flowers and decorations can be a great enhancement to the ceremony.
The arrival
times, their arrangement and placement must be coordinated with the
Wedding
Director.
Nothing must be done that will compromise the physical status of the
church. No
Nails, screws, wiring is to be used. No use should be made of pipe
clamps, plastic and pew clips to secure bows. Items used should leave
no markings of any sort. Directions and confinement of these areas
will be by the Wedding Director and the church Sexton. Candles and
Candelabras, a kneeling bench and lectern, are available for the
wedding ceremony.
Organist and Music:
The music for the marriage ceremony should direct attention to God. It
is hoped that all wedding music will be in keeping with the spirit of
worship of the marriage ceremony.
Our organist or regular substitute must be used at all weddings. A
special arrangement may be made with the Music Director for special
circumstances.
Our organist will stand by to help with any part of the musical
arrangements, choral, soloist, instrumental and other music forms. All
aspects of these arrangements must be approved by the Music Director.
Sound Director:
The church must use its sound director with its equipment, however,
outside audio equipment may be brought in and outside Sound
Technicians may be used. This is coordinated with the Sound Director.
We approach our weddings with a deep sense of reverence and
sacredness. We expect all involved to be aware of their appearance,
conduct and production. It is wise to review all aspects, pictures,
video groupings with both sides of the families and thus insure
sensitivity and input by all.
Wedding Fees:
Sanctuary: For Church members there is no charge. They
pay expenses only.
Non-members - $900.00 Members Families - $600.00
A deposit of 50% is due upon completion of the application form.
Checks should be made payable to Westminster Presbyterian Church. The
remainder is due 6 weeks before the ceremony. No refunds after thirty
days (30) prior to the Wedding Date.
Ministers fees should be given directly to the minister
at the last counseling session or rehearsal. You may want to consult
with the Wedding Director for a suggested figure.
Organist, pianist, sound director fees are included in
the Sanctuary fees.
Fees for soloist and other musicians are not included in
the application fees. They are to be handled separately by the wedding
applicants. Fees for extra lighting, sound systems, photography are
all handled y the wedding couple. These fees should be paid directly
to them or given to the Wedding Director before the wedding date.
Special Policies:
- No weddings or rehearsals on a
Saturday preceding Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday or the Thanksgiving
weekend.
- December is a full month of
activities of which church programs take priority.

or any illegal substances are allowed on any church property.

group.
